He is 56 years old per his 2026 nomination affidavit, and lives in Vellalur, Coimbatore — a residential address listed in his Myneta filing at approximately Rs 1.5 crore.
He completed an ITI diploma from Sri Subbaiah Industrial Training Centre, Coimbatore in 1988, placing him firmly in the Kongu industrial-trades milieu that shapes Sulur's textile-and-pump-set economy. Sulur is Assembly Constituency 116 in Coimbatore district and falls under the Coimbatore Parliamentary constituency. The seat sits in the heart of the Kongu Vellalar Gounder belt, immediately adjacent to Coimbatore International Airport and the Sulur Air Force Station.
It is built from the town panchayats of Irugur, Kannampalayam, Mopperipalayam, Pallapalayam, Samalapuram and Sulur, the Karumathampatti municipality, and the village panchayats of Sulur and Sultanpet blocks. The economy is dominated by textile job-work, foundries and pump-set manufacturing clusters around Karumathampatti and Irugur.
Population (2011 census): 3,41,742 — about 62.4% urban, 37.6% rural; SC 17.28%, ST 0.07%. Electoral roll (2024): approximately 3,24,961 voters across 333 polling stations.
